The Department of Neurology and the Taub Institute of Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking a board-certified genetic counselor who is bilingual/bicultural in Spanish and English for a new study of familial Alzheimer's disease that includes genetic susceptibility testing for early and late onset disease.
The study participants will be individuals of all ages with a history of Alzheimer's disease in their families. The genetic counselor will help to direct a research team actively collecting and managing data on participant's genetic testing. Responsibilities include developing and validating culturally sensitive materials for education about genetics and genetic testing and working with other team members to plan and carry out sessions for pedigree construction, 0genetics education, risk disclosure, clinical diagnoses, and follow-up.
Master's degree in genetic counseling, ABGC Board-Certified
